Brooklyn Bridge Forest is an ambitious, mission-driven initiative dedicated to transforming one of New York’s most celebrated landmarks into a more ecological, community-oriented public space. The project proposes an expanded promenade, improved circulation for pedestrians and cyclists, new cultural and educational programming, and an international conservation partnership designed to permanently protect 200,000 acres of Guatemalan rainforest. Rooted in the bridge’s legacy as a connector between boroughs, cultures, and people, the initiative reframes the iconic structure as both a local resource and a global symbol of environmental stewardship.

Working in close collaboration with Pilot Projects, Cities4Forests, Grimshaw, Silman, and the Wildlife Conservation Society, our team developed a brand  centered on the idea of “bridging” relationships—between city and nature, people and place, and New York and its partner forest. The visual system balances respect for the bridge’s historic presence with a contemporary, optimistic sensibility that drives collective action. Through adaptable typography, a flexible graphic language, and a palette inspired by both the city and the forest, the identity positions Brooklyn Bridge Forest as a forward-looking public initiative and a new emblem of community, climate action, and global connection.

The Brooklyn Bridge Forest project is designed to make vital connections between individuals around the world; between a bridge under our feet and a faraway forest; between New York City and the global environment."
